Our Current Reptile List has been updated!

We are now on facebook!  Please join our page...

A spare 5 minutes, what a treat these days.

So what's been going on, lots of snakes on the go just now, Pythons and Boas are now a lot easier to get hold of, managing to get hold of the more unusual beast, but keep your eyes on the list as they go so fast.
Running a special through out October, buy any hatchling Snake and a starter kit and get £10 discount, lots of nice Corns in if you are thinking about it.
We are expecting the Bearded Dragon kit that a certain pet superstore is selling in this week.  Needles to say our price is going to be A LOT more attractive.

Adding new small animal toys and treats every week plus lots of specialist hays and dried grasses.  Should be expecting more Dumbo Rats in this weekend as well.

Cat people, new range of catnip filled toys in, we are also looking for a new cat scratcher supplier for some slightly taller scratchers at better prices.

As usual this will be littered with spelling and grammer mistakes untill my dear wife checks it over. (Dear Wife has checked it over! Kerry x)

Also if you haven't joined our facebook page yet, join it!.  All the special offers go on there first, plus I want over 400 likers for Christmas, its like a little game now.  Kerry, thats not all I want for christmas, I still want a Sony Tablet. (Dear Wife here - HA...I want a German Shepard, a new car, and an endless money shopping spree - provide all that and the Tablet is all yours! Kerry x)

Sorry for lack of news lately, been so busy we just have not had time.

Reptiles are coming thick and fast now.  They are going that fast we are not getting a chance to get them on the list.  Got it updated today and have more reptiles due in this week.

We have decided that we are not selling rabbits anymore.  The humble rabbit now has the label of most neglected and rehomed animal in the UK, over taking dogs cats and reptiles.  Although all of our rabbits were vet checked, sexed and vaccinated, we feel that most of our customers may have rescued a rabbit if we did not sell them.  Although this will make only make a tiny difference in the grand scheme of things, maybe some of the larger retailers will see sense in this.  We also feel we are unable to stock a range of large hutches and runs for rabbits.
We shall still be selling rabbit foods and all the other bits and pieces, and will be increasing the range in the next month.

Look out for more small furries to replace our rabbits. Already got pied chinese hamsters, dumbo rats ordered and on the look out for badger rats and coloured russian hamsters.

As I mentioned above, we are starting with a new Irish wholesaler so will be able to increase our range, stocking over a 1000 new lines available to only 30 shops in Scotland.

----------------------------

We also have Horsfields, Hermanns, Marginated and Spur Thighed Tortoises in the shop again, all coming with the relevant paper work and Microchipped (Horsfields do not require Microchips).
The Microchips are a new design of tiny Microchip, specially developed for Tortoises under 10cm.  This insures that all Tortoises are bred in captivity and legally taken into the UK.  This is all done at no extra charge to our customers.

We are dealing with so many independant traders now that it can be a problem keeping on top of ordering, so if you notice we are out of a product you usually buy, please let us know so we can get it ordered as soon as possible.

----------------------------

We have an ANACONDA, named Grumpy, approx 12-14ft, and belongs to Nick Martin at

----------------------------

We will also be getting in some of the more fancy morphs of Royal Pythons and Boa Constrictors.

Here are a few things that the Pet Shop has been up to lately...

Some of you may have seen in the Press & Journal that Andrew successfully bred his very own little Horsfields Tortoise!!  Be prepared to be bored to tears with pictures of him as he grows!

His name is Horace; he was born on the 1st May, and took 92 days to hatch out, a little longer than what the books say, but all good things come to those who wait!!

Hurrah for Horace!!

----------------------------

We have also just had 9 baby Corn Snakes hatch, snappy brutes, but snapping is good, shows they will go on to be good feeders.

We also have a tank full of Fire Belly Toad Tadpoles (that's a mouthful), unfortunately they will not be on display until they transform into "toadlets" (he assures me that is a word?).

----------------------------

Lastly, as a responsible Pet Shop, we now only sell rabbits that have been vet checked, sexed by a vet, and vaccinated against myxomatosis.  Upon purchase of the rabbit you will receive his or her vaccination card and also a voucher that entitles you to a free VHD injection at Miller & Swann Veterinary Practice.  This will be administered by a Veterinary Nurse which will give you a chance to ask any other questions you may have e.g. diet, worming, dental care etc.

We would like to thank Miller & Swann for making this possible.

Just a little update on what we are up to...

We have expanded!!

The two reasons for changing the shop were to allow us to expand our reptile collection, and to give us a lot more shelf space for our many products.

All our Animals, Birds & Reptiles are now located in the newly finished area at the back of the shop, it's still a work in progress!  We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to your recent visits to us.

If you have come into the shop lately you will have seen that the old "Reptile Room" has been converted into a lovely Aviary/Tortoise haven.

At present we have our resident Tortoises & 2 Kakarikies housed; we intend to add some hand reared Cockatiels at a later date.

Here are some pictures...
